The boiler cleaned up nicely with picking and steel wool.
I cleaned it up with steel wool.

The replacement element after only two months of use. Not bad and the discoloration on the gasket is from the OEM sealant.
Finally, after sealing and securing the element bracket to the boiler, she has to sit for 24 to allow the sealant to cure before liquid can be added.
