16JUN10 - During the Remodelling Project From Hell, we had to add a second full-size service panel and because of the resulting availability of many more circuits, I elected to pull a line of number 6/2 all the way across the attic and down through the soffit. The reason for this was, the only power to the building we put up in the backyard was the single 2-pole 20-amp run for the well pump when there was no building. That has been adequate power for the overhead lights, receptacles, and pump but I wanted the flexibility to use higher current draw tools like a welder or my new saw and planer.
So, the remainder of that cable has been coiled up on a spool next to the house for the past few years and while I had a trencher available, I wanted to get it pulled to the building. We got the conduit in and cable pulled yesterday but the guys had already backfilled the trench when I finally got the camera out but you can see the gray PVC EMT coming down from the soffit in this shot. |
